Why do you think the NBA and MLB don’t operate under a salary cap, like the NFL does? It seems to me all the two leagues would need to do is look at the NFL’s massive audience and success and seek to emulate their business model.
First, both the NBA and MLB do have soft salary caps, each with a Luxury Tax that carry certain penalties, free agency restrictions or CBT. In the NHL, the salary cap has led to several lockouts. Why wouldn’t they want go to a hard salary cap? Power and money. NBA players have enjoyed assembling their own teams for awhile now and it’s not something I see them giving up easily. As for the MLB: Why seek parity when you can “hire” Roger Clemens, Wade Boggs, Ken Griffey Jr., Steve Sax, Ozzie Smith, José Canseco, Don Mattingly, Darryl Strawberry and Mike Scioscia and beat Shelbyville Power Plant?

Should our Packers try to resign Z. Smith?
The answer to this greatly depends on what happens with Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams. If Rodgers and Adams come back, I fully expect Smith to be gone, but if they don’t return, Smith’s chances increase to a definite slim maybe.

You have to feel bad for Lions fans. They are the unicorns of the NFL. If I ever actually see one for real, I’ll tell them so.

Why do the Packers keep signing quarterbacks who turn into narcissistic divas?
It comes with the territory. My father-in-law told me about a book he read comparing ex-presidents and something they all had in common was a confidence that could be described as a mix of arrogance and megalomania. This type of drive can be extended to business CEOs and sports figures at the top of their respective fields. You have to wonder whether the power and fame got to them or if these traits are how they got to where they are.
