What has surprised you most this off-season? How would you like to see Green Bay spend its draft capital this year? Commanders? Really?
The biggest surprise to me was the total lack of drama surrounding the return of Aaron Rodgers. It seemed almost anticlimactic. Then the trade of Davante Adams came. I thought it was going to be both or neither, so that was strange, but it makes great sense sad as I am to see Adams gone. Green Bay is looking to be putting together a pretty formidable defense, but there are a lot of obvious questions within offensive skill position rooms. It feels like more than ever the BAP approach with a leaning toward WR/TE could be what the doctor ordered. As for the Commanders, Washington really had no choice given this nation’s current social climate and it’s sad they had to be pressured into it. Also, they blew a golden opportunity to be called the Washington Post.

I still have faith in Amari Rodgers. After watching him play WR at Clemson, he is too good a player to not succeed with the Packers. Great hands, speed, and route running. These being said, why do you think he failed to blossom his rookie year in Green Bay? Freshman jitters? Not enough playing time?
There could be a lot of factors behind what I’d consider a disappointing rookie season for Amari Rodgers. There were hints in training camp and practices he wasn’t up to speed. Traditionally, the Packers don’t get rookies too involved early in the passing game. It’s always noted Aaron Rodgers requires a lot of time to build trust and rapport with his receivers as well. The good news is one season does not necessarily doom a player’s career. Let’s take a look at this again once the season begins and he presumably has a few more games’ worth of experience.

Now that they signed that DT, do the Packers take 2 WRs in the first round? WR & TE?
Now that it appears Aaron Rodgers is locked up and happy to play it out in Green Bay, it looks like he’s in dire need of some weapons. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least to see Brian Gutekunst draft heavily on the offensive side of the ball and take several swings at the same position, like he did with MVS, J’Mon Moore, and ESB. However, I expect he feels pretty comfortable in the first round to take the best player he feels can make an immediate impact.

Why is the sky blue? Where did I put the tube of Gorilla Glue that I bought last week? Why can’t I win the Lottery? Why won’t LaFleur start using a real fullback?!
Raleigh scattering. Hopefully, you didn’t use it as hair gel. It’s not the result that excites you, it’s the thrill of the chase. Matt LaFleur likes the versatility of using a TE in that role to keep the defense guessing. There’s more disguising you can do with a TE than FB. Also, it’s possible this new wave of younger coaches just don’t think about the old FB position. Maybe it’ll come around again in 10-15 years.

What are the best and worst aspects of establishing and maintaining this website?
It has been very rewarding learning all of the business and technical aspects of the creation of a website and small business in general, as well as seeing the enthusiasm and contributions from our community. The worst part of the whole thing is seeing the disagreements and disrespect some of our members show each other and trying to objectively moderate the whole thing. Can’t we all just get along?
