🏈 2026 NFL Week 6 Picks & Predictions

October 15–19, 2026 | All game times Central

Another week is in the books, and Week 5 gave us a little bit of everything: overtime thrillers, an actual tie, some brutal offensive performances, and a few results that nobody saw coming.

The good news? We finished 9–6 in Week 5, getting nine of our 15 selections correct. The bad news? Dallas completely fooled us against Tampa, Pittsburgh dismantled Indianapolis, and the Ravens pulled out an overtime win over Atlanta despite our injury concerns.

As always, we’re looking beyond team records and digging into the injuries, roster changes, suspensions, and matchups that could make the difference this week.

Week 5: 9–6 — 60.0%

Our season now looks like this:

2026 Season: 49–30 — 62.0%

Last season: 164–98 — 62.6%

Combined across both seasons:

🏆 213–128 — 62.5%

We’ve now made 341 picks across two seasons and are still sitting remarkably close to the same overall accuracy.

And remember, under our scoring system, a game ending in a tie counts as an incorrect pick because we predicted a winner.

🚨 Week 6 News Desk — Injuries, Transactions & Suspensions

This week’s research turned up several developments that materially affect our predictions.

1. Denver’s secondary is depleted for Thursday night

CB Pat Surtain II and S Talanoa Hufanga are out against Seattle with ankle injuries. CB Riley Moss is questionable.

Seattle will be missing LB Drake Thomas, but WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba and DT Leonard Williams have been cleared to play.

That’s a substantial matchup advantage for Seattle’s passing game, particularly against a Denver defense missing two of its most important defensive backs.

2. Chicago loses Montez Sweat to suspension

Bears defensive end Montez Sweat received a two-game suspension for a performance-enhancing substances policy violation.

He’ll miss Atlanta and New England.

Chicago has activated Shemar Turner from the PUP list, but that doesn’t automatically replace Sweat’s pass-rushing production.

The timing is especially unfortunate because the Bears are preparing to face an Atlanta offense that has scored 75 points over its last two games.

3. Caleb Williams is making progress

Following his hamstring injury, Williams was listed as someone who would have participated fully in Wednesday’s walk-through had it been a regular practice.

That’s encouraging, but it isn’t a confirmed Sunday starting designation.

Chicago’s quarterback situation remains something to monitor as the week progresses.

4. Green Bay’s defensive injuries are mounting

After losing Edgerrin Cooper to an Achilles injury, the Packers have now lost DT Javon Hargrave to a season-ending Achilles injury.

Their active-roster depth is thin, and receiver and cornerback availability also need watching before the Dallas game.

This is particularly concerning with the Cowboys coming to Lambeau after scoring 34 points against Houston.

Green Bay’s offensive-line additions have helped stabilize protection, but the defense is losing important contributors.

5. The Chargers added quarterback insurance

Trey Lance is on injured reserve with a groin injury, so Los Angeles signed Jake Browning to its practice squad.

Justin Herbert remains the starter; this is a depth move, not a quarterback change.

It matters because the Chargers are 0–5 and head into Kansas City against the undefeated Chiefs.

6. San Francisco has linebacker concerns

Dre Greenlaw is serving a suspension, and the 49ers worked out four linebackers ahead of Washington.

For a 5–0 team, that’s a meaningful depth issue, even though San Francisco remains a substantial favorite.

7. The Rams are dealing with offensive-line uncertainty

Rams tackle Alaric Jackson’s suspension was reduced to one game.

It matters to Los Angeles’ offensive-line planning even though its matchup with Arizona still strongly favors the Rams.

💰 Week 6 Betting Lines

These are approximate published lines from October 12, not guaranteed live prices.

MatchupFavoriteSpread
Seahawks @ BroncosSeattle-3
Texans @ JaguarsJacksonville-2.5
Jets @ PatriotsNew England-7
Panthers @ EaglesPhiladelphia-1.5
Steelers @ BuccaneersPittsburgh-2.5
Ravens @ BrownsBaltimore-4.5
Bears @ FalconsChicago-3.5

Titans @ ColtsIndianapolis-7
Cardinals @ RamsLos Angeles-12.5
Chargers @ ChiefsKansas City-8.5
Bills @ RaidersBuffalo-6
Cowboys @ PackersGreen Bay-1.5
Commanders @ 49ersSan Francisco-7.5

The ones that catch my attention are Chicago favored in Atlanta despite the Sweat suspension, Philadelphia barely favored against Carolina, and Green Bay favored by only 1½ at Lambeau.

Those are not necessarily games to follow the favorite blindly.

🏈 OUR WEEK 6 PICKS

The following are straight-up winners, not against-the-spread selections. We’re using the latest injury information, recent form, and the matchup itself. Where a quarterback’s availability remains uncertain, we’ll flag it rather than pretend we already know Sunday’s lineup.

Thursday Night Football — October 15

Seattle Seahawks @ Denver Broncos

7:15 PM CT

Pick: Seahawks 27, Broncos 20

This game is all about Denver’s depleted secondary.

Missing both Surtain and Hufanga is a nightmare against Seattle’s receivers, particularly with Smith-Njigba cleared to play.

Seattle isn’t healthy everywhere either, especially at linebacker, but its passing-game advantage looks more consequential.

Seattle wins on the road. This is one of the selections most directly influenced by the latest injury reports.

Sunday Morning — London 🇬🇧

Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars

8:30 AM CT

Pick: Jaguars 24, Texans 20

Houston finally broke through with a 26–3 win over Tennessee, but Jacksonville has been consistently competitive, including its 19–17 victory over Philadelphia.

This is a tougher defensive test for the Jaguars than last week. Houston’s ability to create pressure could keep Jacksonville from establishing much offensive rhythm.

Still, I like Jacksonville’s recent consistency more than Houston’s one convincing win over a struggling Titans team.

Jaguars by four.

Sunday Noon Games

All games 12:00 PM CT

New York Jets @ New England Patriots

Pick: Patriots 30, Jets 17

New England has now beaten Buffalo and absolutely destroyed Las Vegas 45–17.

There are injuries to watch, though. TreVeyon Henderson suffered an ankle injury, Mack Hollins is on IR, and A.J. Brown has returned to practice but is not guaranteed to play. Meanwhile, Jets RB Breece Hall remains week-to-week with a quadriceps injury.

The Patriots have demonstrated they can win in different ways, and their recent offensive production is too convincing to ignore.

Patriots comfortably.

Carolina Panthers @ Philadelphia Eagles

Pick: Panthers 27, Eagles 24

UPSET PICK

I’m taking Carolina.

The Panthers just hung 32 points on Detroit, while Philadelphia has lost three consecutive games, including the London loss to Jacksonville.

Bryce Young was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice despite a knee listing, and WR Jalen Coker is also practicing fully. Carolina’s offense has a better chance of being close to full strength than it did earlier in the season.

The Eagles remain talented enough to reverse their slide at any moment, but their offensive-line disruption makes this a particularly uncomfortable matchup.

Panthers pull off another upset.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Pick: Steelers 24, Buccaneers 20

Tampa surprised Dallas last week, and I underestimated its ability to stay competitive without Baker Mayfield.

But Pittsburgh’s 34–22 win over Indianapolis was impressive, especially after its disappointing Cleveland loss.

This feels like a game in which the Steelers can control the pace with their defense and avoid giving Tampa too many short-field opportunities.

Steelers by four.

Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns

Pick: Ravens 23, Browns 20

This is our first major quarterback-dependent prediction.

Lamar Jackson missed Wednesday’s practice with his ankle injury after sitting out the Atlanta game. Tyler Huntley remains the alternative.

Cleveland also has concerns, including RB Quinshon Judkins and DT Mason Graham missing Wednesday’s practice.

Baltimore managed to win in Atlanta without Jackson, which makes me more comfortable picking the Ravens even if Lamar misses another week.

But Cleveland has won four of its last five games, and this is an AFC North road game.

Ravens narrowly.

If Lamar is ruled out and Cleveland’s defensive injuries improve, this is a genuine candidate for revision.

Chicago Bears @ Atlanta Falcons

Pick: Falcons 30, Bears 24

This is another game where the news matters.

Caleb Williams is progressing toward returning, but Chicago will be without suspended pass rusher Montez Sweat.

Atlanta QB Michael Penix Jr. was a full practice participant Wednesday despite his rib injury and is expected to start.

Atlanta scored 45 against New Orleans and nearly beat Baltimore last week. I expect that offense to be able to exploit Chicago’s weakened pass rush.

Even if Williams returns, I prefer Atlanta at home.

Falcons 30–24.

New Orleans Saints @ New York Giants

Pick: Giants 27, Saints 23

New York followed its big Arizona win with a 27–27 tie against Washington.

The Giants are not particularly predictable, but Jameis Winston has kept the offense productive since Dart’s injury.

New Orleans just surrendered 45 points to Atlanta before entering this week.

Neither defense inspires tremendous confidence, but I trust the Giants to create a few more scoring opportunities at home.

Giants by four.

Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts

Pick: Colts 31, Titans 13

Tennessee managed only three points against Houston last week.

Indianapolis lost badly to Pittsburgh, but the Colts have a much better opportunity to establish their offense against Tennessee.

The seven-point spread is substantial, yet this is one of the few games where I’m comfortable projecting a double-digit victory.

Colts rebound decisively.

Sunday Afternoon Games

Arizona Cardinals @ Los Angeles Rams

3:05 PM CT

Pick: Rams 34, Cardinals 20

The Rams nearly beat Buffalo before losing 37–34 in overtime. Arizona, meanwhile, gave up 45 points to Detroit.

Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love missed Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury, another concern for an offense that needs to keep pace with Matthew Stafford.

The Rams’ offensive-line situation warrants monitoring, but their offensive upside is considerably higher.

Rams win comfortably.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs

3:25 PM CT

Pick: Chiefs 30, Chargers 17

Kansas City comes off its bye undefeated at 4–0.

Los Angeles is now 0–5, and the loss of backup quarterback Trey Lance has prompted the Jake Browning practice-squad signing.

That’s not the main reason I’m picking against the Chargers, but it underscores how thin their margin for error has become.

Justin Herbert can make this competitive, but Kansas City has the stronger overall team, home-field advantage, and extra preparation time.

Chiefs move to 5–0.

Buffalo Bills @ Las Vegas Raiders

3:25 PM CT

Pick: Bills 31, Raiders 24

Buffalo’s 37–34 overtime win against the Rams was a significant rebound after its loss to New England.

The Bills have injury concerns at receiver, with DJ Moore missing Wednesday’s practice and Joshua Palmer working back from a shoulder issue.

Las Vegas can score, but the 45 points surrendered to New England last week are concerning against Josh Allen.

I expect the Raiders to compete early before Buffalo takes control.

Bills by seven.

Sunday Night Football

Dallas Cowboys @ Green Bay Packers

7:20 PM CT

Pick: Packers 30, Cowboys 27

This is one of the most interesting games of the week.

Green Bay just defeated Chicago 31–7. After weeks of struggling with offensive-line protection, the Packers appear to have found something with their veteran additions.

But the defense is increasingly worrying.

Edgerrin Cooper is gone for the season, and now Javon Hargrave has suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Green Bay’s roster depth is becoming a legitimate issue, especially on defense.

Dallas, meanwhile, gets CeeDee Lamb back at full practice participation, while offensive linemen Tyler Smith and Tyler Guyton were also full participants Wednesday.

That is encouraging for the Cowboys offense.

So why am I still taking Green Bay?

Because the Packers have home-field advantage, the offensive line is improving, and Jordan Love is coming off a convincing performance.

But I would not be remotely surprised if Dallas makes this a shootout.

Packers 30, Cowboys 27.

This is one of our most uncertain selections of the week.

Monday Night Football

Washington Commanders @ San Francisco 49ers

7:15 PM CT

Pick: 49ers 31, Commanders 20

San Francisco is the league’s remaining undefeated NFC West powerhouse at 5–0.

Washington has shown resilience, including its win over Seattle and last week’s tie against the Giants, but this is a difficult road assignment.

The 49ers’ linebacker situation isn’t ideal with Dre Greenlaw suspended and the team evaluating depth options.

Still, San Francisco’s offense has been consistent enough to overcome those defensive issues.

49ers remain undefeated.

Monday Night Tiebreaker: 51 total points.

🎯 Confidence Meter

Most Confident Picks

These are subjective confidence estimates rather than statistically calibrated probabilities.

The Picks That Make Me Nervous

Packers over Cowboys: Green Bay’s improving offensive line versus its growing defensive injury problems.

Ravens over Browns: Lamar Jackson’s ankle and Cleveland’s recent improvement make this difficult to call.

Panthers over Eagles: Carolina is playing well, but Philadelphia has enough talent to reverse its losing streak.

Giants over Saints: New York’s offense has been productive, but neither defense inspires much confidence.

Falcons over Bears: Caleb Williams’ possible return could change the dynamics, although Chicago will be without Montez Sweat.

🏆 The Big Picture

Our record entering Week 6:

49–30 — 62.0%

Combined two-season record:

213–128 — 62.5%

We’ve climbed back from that Week 3 stumble, and now we’ve got 14 games to work with.

The most interesting questions this week are whether Seattle can exploit Denver’s injured secondary, whether Carolina can continue Philadelphia’s slide, and whether Green Bay’s offensive-line improvements can overcome its growing defensive problems.

A 10–4 performance would bring our 2026 record to 59–34 (63.4%) and move us closer to the mid-60s.

One week at a time. Let’s see what Week 6 has in store! 🏈
